Microbiological media used often for QC cultures

Tryptic Soy Broth is used in microbiology laboratories as a culture broth to grow aerobic and facultative anaerobic bacteria and fungi. It is a general-purpose medium that is routinely used to grow fastidious bacteria (i.e. those with high nutritional requirements). It is also used to grow QC cultures. It does not contain indicators or substrates for distinguishing microbial species and is used primarily for growth, not identification.
