TNTplus tests incorporate everything needed for analysis:

• sample treatment and colorimetric reagents are packaged for convenience, stability, and easy handling;
• the barcoded vial provides you with an optically superior single-use cuvette with the added benefit of automated method selection and initiation: never again will you select an incorrect method when conducting your analyses. 

This document will acquaint you with the variety and packaging of the components of the TNTplus premium test system, and how these components interact, providing you with the highest possible quality of colorimetric analytical results.

Barcoded Vial: the 13mm diameter contains the primary pre-measured reagent (either powder or liquid) in an optical quality glass vial.

•  The barcode is read by the photometer, calling up the correct method from the instrument database.
• When the barcode is read, the instrument software validates that the calibration in the instrument is correct for the vial production lot, and then sarts the measurement procedure.
• Ten absorbance measurements are taken in quick succession, as the vial is rotated in several steps to provide a new optical path for each measurement. 
• The photometer then analyses these absorbance data, eliminates any outlying values, calculates the average absorbance, and displays the result, based upon the validated calibration. 
• If the vial is dirty, resulting in a wide range of absorbance values, the instrument will even prompt you to clean the vial!

DosiCap Zip: in addition to the color-forming reagent (chromaphore), some TNTplus tests require additional reagents. 

• DosiCap Zip consists of freeze-dried (lyophilized) reagents located inside the cap, which is protected by a seal. 
• After the sample is pipetted into the vial, the foil is removed from the DosiCap Zip, the cap is inverted and screwed back onto the vial. 
• After a few vigorous shakes, the analyst can view the cap from the top, end-on, to assure that all the reagent has been dissolved (lyophilized reagents dissolve very quickly). 
• Benefits are no measuring, no risk of exposure through chemical contact, and assurance that the complete dose of reagent has been delivered. 
• Plus, the reagent is right there where you need it, one on each vial.  Safe, secure, and fast reagent addition.

DosiCap and MicroCap: 

• Identical in performance to the DosiCap Zip, DosiCaps do not have a foil seal, but instead are packaged in bulk in a plastic mL bottle, one for each vial in the kit.
• To use the DosiCap, simply remove the plain vial cap when instructed by the procedure, and replace it with the DosiCap.
• Fast, accurate, contamination free reagent delivery is assured.

A few tests require MicroCaps during sample pre-treatment using the 20mm diameter reaction tubes. 

• These MicroCaps consist of lyophilized reagents packaged in caps that are smaller than the DosiCap and DosiCap Zip. 
• Twenty-five caps (packed in a small bottle) are included in tests that require them, in addition to the 20 mL reaction vials. 
• To use, simply pop a cap into the 20mm diameter reaction vial--no need to screw it on to the reaction vial.

Miscellaneous liquid and solid reagents:  some reagents cannot be freeze-dried or made into tablets. 

• These reagents are packaged in small bottles:
• Liquid reagents are transferred by pipette;
• Powder reagents are transferred using single-dose measuring spoons (included).
• Old-school reagent dose handling, unavoidable in a few of the new TNTplus vial tests
